SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)
Leslie enjoys walking along side with girls, teens, and parents working through anxiety, depression, big emotions, life transitions, and other challenges seen in girls and teens early years. It was through Leslie’s extensive work as a teacher for six years in Metro Nashville Public Schools, where she learned the importance of empowering girls and teens through relationships to feel seen, heard, and loved. Leslie helps individuals reach their goals through a collaborative, mindful, and holistic approach centered on trust, innovation, and safety that is centered on each individual’s needs.
Leslie is trained in SPACE, Selective Mutism, and is in process of finishing training in PCIT. SPACE uses a parent-centered treatment approach for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, Selective Mutism, and other related disorders to help individuals and families achieve their goals by learning new skills and tools through a collaborative approach. Leslie is also trained in Selective Mutism treatment protocol where she aims to provide support and treatment for girls and teens diagnosed with Selective Mutism. Through her training in PCIT, has helped individuals in school, and home, access their strengths and succeed in school.
Leslie has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Auburn University and continued her education through Regent University where she earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She previously worked in Metro Nashville Public Schools. During this time, she gained extensive experience working with girls and teens navigating life’s tough challenges inside and outside of the classroom by developing individual plans and incorporating mindfulness techniques. Leslie looks forward to working with girls, teens, and parents as each individual navigates through their journey!
