Devon Bridgwaters is a licensed professional counselor, qualified clinical supervisor, and co-founder of Evolve Counseling Associates, LLC in Nashville, TN. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Furman University and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University, Devon brings a decade of diverse experience in mental health treatment and therapeutic care.
Devon’s expertise spans eating disorder recovery, disordered eating support, and body image counseling, as well as treatment for anxiety disorders, depression, stress management, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. She has worked in specialized environments, including eating disorder treatment centers, private schools, alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs, and youth residential treatment programs for behavioral challenges. She is also a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and a current board member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals’ Nashville Chapter.
Believing in the transformative power of relationships, Devon emphasizes mutual empathy and empowerment as the foundation for personal growth. She prioritizes building a trusting therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can authentically express themselves.
Devon uses an integrative, evidence-based therapy approach tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing from effective treatment methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Adolescent Focused Therapy (AFT), Family-Based Therapy (FBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Operating from a Health at Every Size (HAES) counseling framework, Devon offers a safe, inclusive environment for women and teen girls of all backgrounds, body sizes/shapes, ethnicities, religious affiliations, sexualities, and walks of life.
