Devon Bridgwaters is a licensed professional counselor and co-founder of Evolve Counseling Associates, LLC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Furman University and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University. Her diverse clinical experience spans eating disorder treatment centers, private schools, alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities, and residential programs for youth with behavioral challenges. Devon is a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Foundation and serves on the board of the organization’s Nashville Chapter.
Devon is passionate about helping girls and women address body image concerns, disordered eating, eating disorders, and co-occurring challenges. She also supports clients navigating mood and anxiety disorders, stress, self-esteem issues, school-related concerns, life transitions, and personal growth.
Believing in the transformative power of relationships, Devon emphasizes mutual empathy and empowerment as the foundation for personal growth. She prioritizes building a trusting therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can authentically express themselves.
Using an integrative, evidence-based approach, Devon tailors therapy to each client’s needs, drawing from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), adolescent focused therapy (AFT), family-based therapy (FBT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP). She practices from a Health at Every Size framework and welcomes women of all backgrounds, body sizes/shapes, ethnicities, religious affiliations, sexualities, and walks of life.
