HOW EVOLVE COUNSELING ASSOCIATES HELP WITH DEPRESSION
According to the Mayo Clinic, “women are nearly twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression.” Depression may occur at any age and there are many reasons depression may occur. Depression in women can be tied to hormonal events in one’s life; however hormonal changes alone do not cause depression. For women, in particular, depression can be associated with “biological factors, inherited traits, and personal life circumstances”. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA)shared that 1 in 8 women experience depression in their lifetime.

Feeling as though life isn't worth living, or having thoughts of suicide
WHAT TO EXPECT IN COUNSELING FOR DEPRESSION
As you begin counseling for depression, your therapist will want to learn more about your past as well as your present. This helps the therapist to identify patterns, significant relationships, and coping mechanisms that are being used. As the counseling relationship continues, your therapist will seek to identify distorted thinking, help you identify core beliefs and emotions, and help you to build a “toolbox” of skills you can use outside of counseling.
